Family care
Make a plan for a parent with everyone in the room
For adult children, and the parent when she or he can join, who need to agree on a move, a caregiver or the money.
These decisions rarely have a villain. Siblings live in different places, carry different costs and remember a parent differently. In mediation each person gets a turn to say what they're worried about, and we turn those worries into a plan with names and dates.
I don't assess anyone's capacity or give medical or financial advice. A parent may bring a lawyer or a trusted friend, and sessions can be at the table or on a video call for the sibling who lives far away.
Questions we work through
Who handles bills, the house and paperwork
A move to assisted living or into a child's home
Sharing the cost and the time of caregiving
What to do with belongings and sentimental items

Who joins
Everyone who has a say, in the room or on a screen
The parent
Invited to every session, and heard first when she or he is able to come.
Each adult child
One seat each, at the same fee as the others. A sibling far away joins by video.
A lawyer or advocate
Welcome beside any of them. I'll ask each person who they would like present.
A care manager
Can join for part of a session to explain options. Their fee, if any, is theirs.
Fees for this kind of table
Why the fee is per person
Each adult at the table pays the same per-person fee, so no one is the client and no one is the guest. In a family of three siblings that is three seats at the same fee for a two-hour session.
If one sibling would rather cover the fee for everyone, tell me before the first session and the invoice will show it. Court filing fees and legal advice aren't part of the price.
Start with one short call
Tell me who's involved and what has to be decided. I'll tell you which package fits.
The first call is free and carries no obligation. Sessions are billed at the fee quoted in writing.
